Vosloorus community holds prayer session for matric learners ahead of final exams
Pastors, community leaders, and motivational speakers unite to pray for and inspire learners to stay focused and trust in God as they prepare for their final examinations.
A prayer session was held to deliver divine guidance and strength to matric learners who will be starting to write final examinations on October 20.
The Fourth Annual Prayer Session, which comprised matric learners from various high schools in Vosloorus, was held at the Vosloorus Civic Centre on October 8.
Various pastors prayed for the matric learners during the session.
The ward 44 community activist, Tiisetso Santos, who hosted the empowering initiative, said they held the Fourth Annual Prayer Session to pray to God to protect and guide the matric learners when they write their final examinations.

“Matric learners are going to start writing their final examinations on October 20, so we saw it befitting for us to pray for them. We are also taking this opportunity to encourage and motivate them to study and be prepared for their final examinations.
“We understand that most of the matric learners are anxious and doubtful, so we are channeling them to draw strength from God. In such times, it’s important for matric learners to study, but they mustn’t forget to invite God in their journey,” said Santos.
He added that they are encouraging the matric learners to prioritise their future by studying hard for their final examinations.
“We want the learners to walk through this journey knowing that they are being supported. They will be able to produce good marks if we rally behind them as community members.
“During this essential event, we are also encouraging the learners to be united and have study groups. I have been hosting these prayer sessions for the matric learners, and I will continue hosting them because they have yielded positive results since I initiated them four years ago,” Santos expressed.
A matric learner from Lethulwazi Comprehensive School, Lindiwe Tsiyane (17), who attended the event, said the session was motivational and inspirational to her.

“I have learned the importance of inviting God in my journey to writing my final exams. I will continue to pray and study going forward so that I can get the results I’m anticipating.
“The support and motivation we received today were important and fulfilling. I feel at ease since they prayed for me today,” expressed Tsiyane.
Another attendee of the prayer ceremony, Sthembiso Zulu (17), who is a matric learner at Illinge Secondary School, said the prayer has boosted his confidence.
“I believe with God’s divine intervention, I will pass my exams. I needed this session to be inspired and motivated.
“I learned that inviting God in whatever you do will help you succeed as a person. From now on I’m going to be praying and studying,” Zulu shared.
A motivational speaker, Themba Lukhele, who graced the event, said he came to motivate learners he regards as future leaders.
“I’m here to encourage the matric learners to focus on studying for their final examinations and never disregard praying because it’s the foundation of everything that they want to achieve. My main objective is to encourage them to avoid anything that will distract them from studying, because the upcoming final examinations will decide their future,” Lukhele concluded.
