City of Ekurhuleni distances itself from fake social media post

The CoE has dismissed a fake tweet falsely attributed to its official X account, and urged residents to verify information through official channels.

The CoE has distanced itself from a circulating fabricated tweet falsely attributed to its official social media account.

The fake post, commenting on matters related to the Madlanga Commission, was not issued by the city and was digitally altered to appear legitimate.

In an official statement, the CoE stated, “The city remains fully committed to co-operating with the Madlanga Commission and will respond to any matters or allegations directly through the commission’s official processes; not via social media.”

The CoE urges residents to be cautious of misinformation and verify any communication claiming to be from it.
