Fatal truck collision claims pedestrian on R24 eastbound

A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck on the R24 in Bedfordview, causing serious traffic delays this morning.

A pedestrian was killed this morning, October 28, after a truck hit them on the R24 eastbound near the N12 split in Bedfordview.

According to the EMPD, officers and DEMS personnel responded to the scene. The pedestrian was declared dead after sustaining fatal injuries.

The incident caused traffic delays on the R24 as officers diverted vehicles and cleared the roadway.

The EMPD urges motorists travelling through Bedfordview to drive carefully, reduce speed and be patient while authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the accident.
