EMPD clamps down on illegal trading in Germiston CBD, confiscates goods
The EMPD has intensified its by-law enforcement in the Germiston CBD, seizing mannequins and car polish from traders who repeatedly ignored municipal regulations.
The EMPD has intensified its by-law enforcement efforts in the Germiston CBD, confiscating several goods illegally displayed on pavements.
According to the EMPD, officers from the Germiston South By-Laws Unit held an operation on November 21, targeting traders who had repeatedly contravened the city’s municipal by-laws.
Officers confiscated 53 clothed mannequins displayed on sidewalks and 19 containers of car polish placed unlawfully near the intersection of Plantation and High roads.

The EMPD confirmed that traders had been warned previously about trading practices that obstruct pedestrian movement and violate city regulations.
All confiscated items were transported to the EMPD pound in Elsburg.
The department said these operations form part of the city’s ongoing commitment to enforce by-laws and maintain order in high-traffic areas.
