Ekurhuleni promotes reproductive health with free services for residents
The City of Ekurhuleni commemorates Reproductive Health Month by offering free services including family planning, antenatal care, STI screening, HIV testing, and youth-friendly programs to empower residents to make informed health decisions.
The City of Ekurhuleni commemorates February as Reproductive Health Month under the theme Empowering Communities Through Accessible Reproductive Health Services.
This annual commemoration highlights the importance of ensuring access to high-quality reproductive health information and services for all residents.
City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, said the city remains committed to promoting wellbeing, preventing illness, and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive and overall health.

“As part of this year’s campaign, a wide range of reproductive health services is being offered across municipal clinics and health facilities.
“These include family planning and contraceptive services to support informed choices, antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and infants, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV testing, counselling and treatment support, as well as cervical and prostate cancer screening.
“The campaign also provides youth-friendly services that create safe and confidential spaces for young people to access information and care, along with condom distribution and education initiatives.
“Residents are encouraged to visit their nearest health facility to access these essential services, which are provided free of charge. Through this initiative, the City continues to strengthen equitable access to healthcare and improve health outcomes across communities,” said Dlamini.
