Protests across parts of Germiston dominated the morning as groups of demonstrators marched through the CBD under the watch of a strong police presence.

Several groups were seen moving through different parts of the town, with protesters chanting and some carrying wooden sticks. At the time of reporting, no incidents of violence or damage to property had been reported.
