Young creatives encouraged to showcase their art
School pupils can win art material prize packages in an upcoming visual arts competition, with entries starting at R30.
Young artists in grades five to 12 are invited to explore growth, transformation and new beginnings through the Blooming Life art competition.
The theme encourages participants to look beyond flowers and interpret what life in bloom means to them.
Entries may explore vibrant spring colours, personal transformation, changing landscapes or any other creative interpretation through drawing, painting, digital art or another accepted visual art medium.

Entries close on October 31, with judging scheduled for November 6. The entry fee is R30 for grades five to eight and R50 for grades nine to 12.
Prize packages and sponsorship
A winner and runner-up in each age category will receive a specially selected art materials prize package to support their creative journey.
The prizes are sponsored by Bud & Blossom Creatives, with a contribution from Artboard.
Traditional artwork should be A3 or larger, photographed clearly and submitted as a high-quality PDF. Digital artwork must be submitted as a high-resolution PNG or TIFF.
Submission guidelines
All artwork must be the participant’s own original work. Plagiarism, copying another artist’s work and submitting AI-generated artwork as original work are not permitted.

To enter, participants need to create their artwork, prepare the required file, pay the entry fee, complete the entry form and upload proof of payment together with their artwork.
