Juicy tidbits

How do you beat the winter funk?

I don’t know about you, but this time of year is always hard for me.

What am I talking about?

I think you know what I mean…

It’s the blues, the funk, the downs brought on by winter.

The cold gets tiresome and, if I let it, the cold and wind seep into my body, giving me a matching cold and bitter attitude.

I feel exhausted and cranky and doodle stick figures of me and my hubby standing on a warm beach in the sun.

But surely there is a way to beat the winter funk?

After posting the question on Facebook and Twitter here are some simple suggestions on how to make the cold winter days and nights more bearable:

  •  Long hot bubble baths.
  •  Hearty soups.
  •  Days spent cuddled up in bed or on the couch with a good book or a stack of movies.
  •  Keeping active.
  • A big cup of coffee or tea.
  •  Baking.
  • Shopping.

Siske van Niekerk suggested, “A midday stroll to catch some ‘rays’.”

Others don’t mind the weather at all. Rhonda Frame-Pritchard said, “I don’t need to beat the winter funk. I love winter, I carry on doing what I love, and then I don’t even feel the cold.”
