A few days into the New Year and with the festive season celebrations and festivities out of the way you are probably anticipating how the year will unfold for you.
In the same breath, New Year’s resolutions and goals creep into one’s mind.
This is also the time where people pen down what they would like to see themselves achieve in 2016.
If you are among those jotting down resolutions and goals for the year, don’t fall into the procrastination trap.
Procrastination is one of the reasons why we never accomplish all or any of the things on the lists.
Rid yourself of procrastination and start working towards achieving those goals now.
Even though you want to achieve them later in the year, begin the process.
It also dawned on me that procrastination is not the only thing holding us back; we tend to have other contributing factors as well.
You find that we have unnecessary baggage that we carry over to each year that we should just leave behind.
I took to Facebook to find out what others did not wish to take with them to 2016:
- Thandeka Makeleni said, “I definitely left negativity behind.”
- Nomonde Ndlovu said, “Toxic relationships; be it lovers, friends or family, this year, I am not letting them pull me down.”
- Oleva Velbroek said, “Fear, I am not taking fear with me.”
- Moitswadi Maponyane said, “I left all the bad things that happened in my life in 2015, I let them go and got into the New Year with a fresh and positive mindset.”
I for one left procrastination behind, among other things.
Take time to search yourself and see what unnecessary luggage you are not carrying with you into 2016.
