We at the GCN went out and asked the residents of Germiston how they were keeping cool during the heatwave.
Gift Mukwevho: “During a heatwave, I enjoy sitting outside on the balcony with family, enjoying the Primrose view while having a delicious cold beverage.”
Ian Watt: “Well, we have an air conditioner at home and that helps greatly in the heatwave. And I suppose we all just stay indoors during such times.”
Alyssa Hendriks: “I just jump into the pool. If I am not near a pool, I connect the hosepipe and spray cold water on myself to keep cool.”
Isaac Khambwe: “Normally to cool myself during a heatwave, I take cold showers, ensure that all windows are open and I set my air conditioner on low.”
Floyd Moseri: “On hot days I take a walk to the park. Pick a tree with nice shade; enjoy the breeze and good conversations with friends.”
