#IMadeMyMark: As a young person, do you think you would relate better to younger politicians or do you think the older the political leader the better?
We hit the streets to find out what young people thought about giving political power to younger political leaders in the future.
Daniel Liebmann: “I have confidence in Cyril Ramaphosa. There are no young politicians like him. Young politicians are not business savvy and they don’t have experience in politics like him.”
Sikelela ‘Mr Allofit’ Nomvete: “Young or old, I think all politicians are the same. When they get into power, they forget all about the promises made to the millions who voted.”
Wendy Nzama: “Definitely. We need younger politicians as they would understand today’s youth. The older politicians are from an old generation and they are stuck in their ways.”
Gift Kgosireleng: “Younger politicians will better understand the issues directly facing the youth, such as unemployment, entrepreneurship and support for small businesses, and they will introduce new solutions.”
Daniel Thobela: “We need younger political leaders to change our country. They will understand what the youth needs and come up with innovative ideas to combat today’s issues.”
Johannes Phutiyagae: “It will take time for young political leaders to rule the nation, but when they do, I believe they will make the necessary changes in our communities.”
