Olwethu Mbatha:
"For teenage pregnancy, learners should avoid partying and conversing with bad guys or girls, avoid drugs and alcohol and choose good friends. For bullying, victims must report to elders who will react to such reports."
Teenage pregnancy and bullying in schools is a major concern. On October 19, Hawk Academy learners were asked what their solutions are for teenage pregnancy and bullying.
This is what they said:
Banathi Nkomeni:
“My solution for teenage pregnancy is for girls to distance themselves from bad influence and avoid getting involved in sexual activities. The best solution for bullying is to show humanity to other people.”
Andzani Baloyi:
“I think the solution to teenage pregnancy is abstaining. They must also learn to use condoms. My solution for bullying is to report that person to your teachers or the police.”
Penetacia Ntamela:
“My solution for teenage pregnancy is to avoid peer pressure and do not rely on what your peers say. To avoid bullying, stay away from people showing ill behaviour and don't try to fit in. Just be yourself.”
Lewis Palamente:
“My solution is to speak to your parents or tell the police when it comes to teenage pregnancy and incidents of bullying.”
Brendan Mohlabe:
“Children must tell their parents or ask for help from adults if they are bullied and when they have to deal with teenage pregnancy.”
Maangoanesho Morema:
“Every girl can be a victim of teenage pregnancy. One can avoid it by abstaining and keeping good friends. Bullying is a major problem. We should stop it by telling our loved ones or teachers.”
