I have recently established that an uncle of my maternal grandfather moved to Modderfontein at some point after World War One.
Given that he originated from Stevenston where Nobel Industries Ardeer explosives plant was situated, I suspect that he may well have moved to SA to work with the factory there as the company’s website suggests some people from Scotland did.

I wonder if there are any records of employees and if so, who I might contact to investigate this further.
