Local tennis club goes from strength to strength

Tennis club welcomes new players.

The Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence is calling on everyone interested in playing tennis.

Coaching is held every Saturday, at the Germiston Stadium.

The aim of the tennis school is to produce provincial championships, who will then progress to national and international levels.

“The training  is a long-term development, as it requires hard work, perseverance, discipline and respect for authority,” said the head coach of the club, Loyiso Matsha.

The club members play internal monthly tournaments at the Germiston Stadium and receive small incentives (prizes).

“The progress made this year by the players is enourmous; there is great improvement,” said another coach, Sizo Sonqishe.

The recent singles tournament was won by Tadiwanashe Chipfakacha, with Martinique Davids second and Dian Dreyer third.

Fourth was Genna Davids; fifth Jaydan Rooskrantz, and sixth Sethembile Myeni.

“If you want to bring your children to join the club and play the game, they are welcome,” said Matsha.
