It is the time of the year when Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) host their Provincial Championships at the Germiston Stadium.
Commencing at 8am on Saturday, March 14, the event will serve as a platform for athletes to score points towards being selected for the SA Championships, in Bloemfontein, next month.
“Athletes have worked hard throughout the season to qualify for selection, and this serves as their last chance,” said CGA’s Mbalenhle Ngema.
The athletes will, at the championships, better their chances of making the team that will represent South Africa at the Youth World Championships, in July.
“We are looking forward to a tough competition between all the athletes, who have performed to their utmost best,” said Ngema.
“Some of the athletes have been setting new records for their given events throughout the season – may the best athlete win.”
