ELFA heats up for local team
Germiston City Football Club shone in their ELFA fixture on Saturday.
The Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League continued this weekend for Germiston’s football teams.
Germiston City Football Club travelled to Bedfordview, to take on Olympia Italian Football Club, on Saturday afternoon.
Germiston FC first team celebrated success, walking away with a 4-0 win over Olympia.
The stern words from Germiston coach Sreten Pavlovic after the previous week’s defeat seemed to give the team the motivation they needed to beat back their opponents.
The side’s goals were scored by Tunde Rufai, Tsiitso Molemela, Mduduza Mkwandsa and Lebogang Chokoe, who was credited with being instrumental in the team’s victory.
The team put pressure on their opponents throughout the game and were rewarded several chances at goal.
Germiston’s reserve side lost their Saturday match 1-0.
Young reserve goalkeeper Benji Kaunda was commended for his efforts.
This week will see Luso host Union Football Club, while Germiston will host Randburg Football Club.
