Great win for Elsburg

It was all out action at the Elspark Sports Grounds on Saturday when Elsburg Rugby Club took on Eden Park Rugby Club.

The club plays in the Kestrel League under the Valke Rugby Union.

The first half saw both teams getting possession of the ball equally, but Elsburg had the measure of their opponents and went into the break in the lead.

The second half saw both teams fighting for the upper hand but it was Elsburg who came out triumphant with a 33-17 win.

During the match, Elsburg scored five tries as opposed to Eden Park’s two.

The try scorers were Gerald Pretorius (two), Eugene Scott, Elias Tiara and Stephen Phillipson.

Pretorius was named man of the match for scoring two tries.

The club is looking forward to this Saturday’s clash against the East Rand Police in Apex, Benoni and hope to get another win.
