Emperors hosts PSL Awards
Sports dignitaries gathered at Emperors Palace for the 2015/16 Premier Soccer League Awards.
The country’s top footballers, administrators and other special guests attended the ninth annual Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards.
The prestigious event took place at Emperors Palace’s Centre Court on May 30.
The evening’s big winner was Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat who received three honours: he was named the Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season, scooped the Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season award and the all-important Footballer of the Season trophy.
Thabo Nthete, also from Mamelodi Sundowns, was named the Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament and the best Defender of the Season.
After an outstanding season coaching Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club to a comfortable victory in the 2015/16 Absa Premiership, Pitso Mosimane was named the Absa Premiership Coach of the Season.
The late Cecil Lolo, who passed away in October 2015, was also honoured.
Lolo was signed with Ajax Cape Town Football Club at the time of his death. He was named MTN8 Player of the Tournament at the award ceremony.

- Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament: Jeremy Brockie.
- Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Season: Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali.
- NFD Top Goalscorer of the Season: Thabiso Kutumela -18 Goals.
- Referee of the Season: Thando Ndzandzeka.
- Assistant Referee of the Season: Zakhele Siwele.
