Special cricket training offered
Vosloorus Cricket Club players are attending special one-on-one training with their head coach at their field in Vosloorus.
The special training, which started on Tuesday, June 20 as the league (Eastern Cricket League) was closing, will continue until the league re-opens in September.
Johnny Ramaoka, head coach of the club, said they have organised this training to help the girls improve.
“Our league is on break so I decided to call the players who are playing for my team and have one-on-one training with them. They are good players who need a little bit of improvement,” said Ramaoka.
He said the league has nine teams participating.
“We are occupying the sixth position,” he said.
He said the lessons are taking place from Tuesday to Friday, from 11am till 2pm.
“I am pleased with the improvement – their batting and bowling skills are getting better every day. I hope by the time the league re-opens they will be better players,” said Ramaoka.
He said the players are between the ages of 13 and 18 years.
