Women players thrilled with league win
The Luso Africa women’s team won their league by 14 points.
The Luso Africa women’s team played their final game of the SAFA Ekurhuleni Women’s league, last weekend, against Home Sweepers FC from Springs.
The game was played at Luso’s home ground, Hattingh Park.
Despite already winning the league, the team wanted to finish off with a win.
The Luso team controlled the game well from start to finish and a well-taken first half goal from Bongi Radebe was enough to win the game 1-0.
The women had a very successful season in the SAFA Ekurhuleni league, playing 14 games and winning 12.

The team had to win the league in order to advance to the play-offs for a place in the women’s Sasol League (the elite league for women’s football in South Africa).
The side won the league consisting of just eight teams by 14 points.
Deme Kapatos enjoyed a successful season and was the team’s top scorer, scoring 15 of the team’s 48 goals.
The team will be kicking off the local district league this weekend as they await confirmation of the dates for the play-offs.
