The second annual 100 Cycle Challenge will hit Germiston in May

Get ready for the second instalment of the 100 Cycle Challenge which will be held on May 5.

Autumn’s biggest racing event, for road cyclists from across South Africa, is back for its second instalment.

The 100 Cycle Challenge will, once again, start and finish at Germiston Lake, with both a 100km and 50km distance being included.

The race entries are open to anyone over the age of 15, for the 100km race, and anyone over the age of 13, for the 50km race.

The 100 Cycle Challenge is dedicated to the development of the sport of cycling and this year the race supports the developmental initiatives of East Rand based Ekurhuleni Cycling Club and The Urban Ruins.

The race organisers have also extended an invitation to a wide variety of charities and non-profit organisations to use it as a platform to raise funds for their various causes.

This year’s 100km route will remain the same, with the exception that the start of the race will be at a different point at Germiston Lake, while the 50km race route is yet to be finalised.

Entries are open and cyclists can visit www.100cyclechallenge.co.za and click on the ‘Enter Race’ button for all the details or send an email to info@100cyclechallenge.co.za for more information.
