Suspected drug peddler caught with Kat near Leondale

A man was arrested in Phumula Park after he was found in possession of Kat.

A suspected drug dealer was nabbed last Friday after a tip-off from a community member.

The arrest took place in Phumula Park (next to Leondale) at 6.30pm and was effected by members if the EMPD Public Order Police Task Team.

EMPD officers went to the suspected drug dealer’s friend’s house in Ikusasa Street and cornered the suspect.

They found five ziplock bags of Kat with a street value of R350 in his possession.

The 31-year-old suspect was detained at Alberton Police Station and charged with possession of and dealing in narcotics.

He is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
