Stop-and-search yields results

Katlehong police arrest five suspects in daily stop-and-search.

Katlehong police strive to curb crime in their area.

To this end, a team from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit hosted a stop-and-search operation in the area, last Monday.

The operation led to the arrest of five suspects for various offences.

Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, shoplifting, drug possession and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi commended the team on their efforts and strongly condemned motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
