Basketball fund-raiser a great success
The Germiston Basketball Club held their first fund-raising event of the year at the Germiston Stadium.
Basketball players from across Ekurhuleni travelled to Germiston for the Germiston Basketball Club’s first fund-raising event of the year.
The recent event aimed to raise much-needed funds for the club to fix the courts and other facilities at the Germiston Stadium, as well as to buy more equipment.

“We were blown away with the support we received from the community and hope to make it a regular event,” explained Seaparo Ramaube, on behalf of the Germiston Basketball Club.
Though the array of teams took to the courts, from junior to senior, the senior play-offs were credited with being the most entertaining and hard-fought of the day, with many seasoned players showcasing their skills for everyone to see.
The day’s results were:
• The Wattville A Basketball Club won the senior division.
• The Bedfordview Panthers won the men’s u-18 division.
• The Leondale Chronix won the women’s u-18 division.
• Team Diego won the mini-basketball division.
“We are calling on the community, juniors to seniors, to come and join the club.
“The Germiston Basketball Club is affiliated with the Ekurhuleni Basketball Association and we play in the Ekurhuleni Basketball League,” said Ramaube.
