Tight clashes between Luso and Robertsham

Luso Africa FC welcomed one of their fiercest rivals to their turf in their recent Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League clash.

Luso Africa Football Club hosted Robertsham Football Club in an Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League fixture last Saturday.

The first team had a flying start, showcasing good football and seeking an early lead against the visitors.

Robertsham were struggling with the pace set by the home team, who were later rewarded with an early goal from Sizwe Magagu.

Goal celebrations soon came to an end, when Stewart Bourke suffered a fall which resulted in him breaking his arm.

He was rushed to hospital immediately.

Though Luso lost momentum during this time, their goal was enough to see the team go into the break with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half Luso began taking the foot off the pedal, a mistake that would see the visitors capitalise on their weakness.

Luso Africa FC and Robertsham FC had a heated clash last Saturday at Hattingh Park, in an Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League fixture.

Robertsham shot back into the game with an equaliser after poor defensive work from Luso.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The second teams’ clash was heated from the onset with both teams showcasing tactful tackles and seeking to take the lead.

It was Luso’s Mario Ferreira and Clayton Botha who gave the team a 2-1 lead going into half-time, after Robertsham scored a penalty.

Fulvio Perreira challenged Robertsham FC’s defenders countless times in Luso Africa FC’s recent Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League clash last Saturday.

Though Luso continued to dominate the game in the second half, Robertsham was able to turn things around to their benefit, getting in a late equaliser right before the final whistle.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Bourke had a successful operation on Sunday and is recovering well.
