Le Roux wins featherweight title fight
Several Thunder MMA members showcased their skills at Raw Fight Night (RAW), last Saturday.
A number of Thunder MMA fighters gave it their all at the action-packed Raw Fight Night (RAW), last Saturday.
The event, which was held in the south of Johannesburg, promised to be full of excitement and action, and it didn’t disappoint.
The event started early with grappling and light contact matches.
“All of our fighters did extremely well and made us proud,” said coach Pietie Coxen.
“They all showed heart, commitment and most importantly had fun.
“All the time and effort they put in preparing for the event shone through.”

Then it was time for the main event where Jade van der Kolff, Brendon Wesson and Chris le Roux were eager to make their mark.
First up was Wesson, who put on a big show for his debut in the hexagon.
Wesson found his rhythm early in the first round of the bout landing several punches.
He was named the winner in the second round after his opponent was disqualified for illegal punching.
Van der Kolff then made his way to the hexagon.
He won his match by technical knockout (TKO) after landing several well-timed punches that his opponent couldn’t defend against.

Le Roux fought in the event’s main fight taking on Keagan Delafield in a featherweight title fight.
“The amount of heart that le Roux showed in the fight was absolutely unbelievable,” said Coxen.
The physical back and forth match was finally won by le Roux when the referee stepped in a stopped the match.
“A big thank you to everyone who helped out and supported us,” said Coxen.
