Raptors win big at Big 5 tournament
Several wrestlers from the Raptors Wrestling Club travelled to Pretoria to take part in the Johnnie Reitz Big 5 Open Wrestling Championships.
Thirteen young wrestlers from Raptors Wrestling Club recently travelled to Pretoria to take part in the Johnnie Reitz Big 5 Open Wrestling Championships.
The tournament was held at the Rembrandt Hall at the University of Pretoria and saw more than 780 entrants from various clubs around the country.
The event also saw a team from Oregon, in the United States of America, competing.

The Raptors earned their share of medals at the tournament, walking away with five gold medals, six silver medals and one bronze medal.
Dewald de Wet, the head coach at the club, was thrilled with the results.
The Raptors are now preparing for their next challenge, the Eastern Gauteng Medal Championships.
The event will be held at the Raptors gym in Oak Avenue, Primrose, on August 24 from 9am.

“We are positive the team will win numerous medals at the competition and be considered for selection for the Eastern Gauteng team to compete at the upcoming South African Youth Championships,” said de Wet.
