Charity wins the day

Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile sees 16 charities benefiting.

Every year the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile sees a host of South Africa’s best-loved celebrities descend on Turffontein Racecourse for an event that gives back in a unique way.

The day sees celebrities dressed to the nines to cheer home the stars of the turf as their finishing positions in the Charity Mile determine what portion of the R1-million goes to their respective charities.

The concept is a simple one, 16 horses are paired with 16 celebrities and charities and everyone unites on the day to support one common goal, which is to support those less fortunate.
