Tebbutt Academy honours karateka for outstanding 2025 achievements
Karateka from Tebbutt Academy were celebrated for their dedication, discipline and tournament success during the academy’s year-end function at Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston.
Karateka from Tebbutt Academy were honoured for their outstanding achievements during the academy’s year-end function, held recently at Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston.
The celebration recognised the students’ discipline, dedication, and exceptional growth throughout the year.
Kancho Alex Tebbutt opened the ceremony by expressing heartfelt gratitude as the academy concluded another successful year.

He applauded the karateka who proudly represented the club at tournaments and commended his support team for their commitment.
“To my support team, this was a busy year, and an even bigger one awaits us next year. Thank you for all your assistance in the dojo and at tournaments. Your efforts do not go unnoticed,” he said.

Reflecting on the year’s achievements, Tebbutt highlighted several key milestones.
The academy successfully hosted two gradings where students showcased their skills and advanced to higher belt levels.
The club also participated in six tournaments, including their own well-supported Tebbutt’s Tournament.
“Our students carried the Tebbutt name with pride,” he said.
“They brought home medals, but what matters even more is the experience, knowledge, and confidence gained. Whether practicing in the dojo or stepping onto the tournament floor, each of you has made me incredibly proud.”
Tebbutt also expressed appreciation for the parents and supporters who continue to stand behind the young athletes.

As the academy prepares for a new chapter, Tebbutt announced that training will resume on January 12, setting the tone for another promising year.
He closed with a message directly to his karateka. “Thank you for upholding the Tebbutt name, for showing up consistently, and for giving your best in the dojo and at competitions.”
