Goudrif learner claims U18 100m title
Goudrif High School’s Calvin Kandira clocked 11.01 to claim gold and set his sights on the 200m and 400m this season.
Primrose resident Calvin Kandira kicked off the athletics season on a high note, claiming first place in the men’s U18 100m at the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) League meet.
The Goudrif High School learner clocked an impressive 11.01 to win.
Following his strong start, Kandira has set his sights on the 200m and 400m events this year, where he hopes to showcase his versatility and endurance.

He described his off-season training as intense, emphasising that the hard work prepared him well for the competitive season ahead. Kandira also expressed enthusiasm about representing his school in the upcoming school athletics events.
He previously demonstrated his determination when he competed in the 200m and 400m events under the Goudrif High School banner at the South African High School Championships.
With a strong foundation and clear goals for the season, Kandira is positioning himself as one of the promising young sprinters to watch in the U18 category.
