Brixton Masters coach Pule Masukela commended his players for their performance and the victory.

He said tournaments like these are important for keeping players active and maintaining their health.

“This is a master’s competition. We need to keep running around to stay active and enjoy social cohesion with our age mates. After the tournament, we hang out and socialise,” he said.

Speaking about the match, Masukela admitted that his team could have performed better in the first half.

“In the second half, I had to strengthen my midfield to gain better control of the ball and create more chances. Luckily for us, we made use of those chances and scored four goals,” said Masukela.

“Losing is part of the game, and we did our best to counter their offensive strategies,” he said.

Manganye added that substitutions in the second half did not produce the desired defensive stability.

“In the second half, I had to make substitutes, but we failed to defend well,” said Manganye.
