Fresh from a gold-medal performance at the MMA SA National Championship, the talented young fighter is focused on extending his winning momentum at his next event.
Kayden Wesson, who recently won gold in the junior U57kg division at the MMA SA National Championship 2026, will return to amateur fighting on June 27.

His game plan remains focused on grappling, as he believes he is the best grappler in his division.
Wesson is still competing as an amateur and is already preparing for his next amateur fight on June 27 in Durban at an event called Lights Out.
His experience is vast, as he previously represented South Africa at the 2023 IMMAF Youth MMA World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
Wesson says he did not face any tough opponents during the tournament, but remains focused on staying composed inside the cage.

“I need to stay calm and pick my shots and opportunities during each fight. I just believe that God always has a plan for me to come out on top,” said Wesson.
He said winning gold means a lot because it allows him to prove himself as an athlete while also helping his province perform well at the national level.
His message remains simple: “Believe, and you will achieve.”
