Bonne Bamber wins ESWG July golf competition at State Mines

Bonne Bamber claimed top honours in the Ekurhuleni Senior Women's Golf July competition after carding 47 points at State Mines Country Club.

Bonne Bamber capped a remarkable month by claiming top honours in the Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) July round at State Mines Country Club in Brakpan on July 13.

Bamber carded an impressive 47 points to win the monthly competition, finishing two points ahead of Hilde Meyer, who secured second place on 45 points.

Ana Kim completed the podium after winning a count-out on 43 points. Carol Martin finished fourth, also on 43 points, while Debbie Jenkins claimed fifth following another count-out on the same score.

Jeannette Sainsbury and Tania de Vincenzo also finished on 43 points after the count-out.

Other results

Jeni Looi claimed the nearest-the-pin prize on the eighth hole, while De Vincenzo took the honours on the 16th.

Martie Becker and Peachy Swarts were the raffle winners.

ESWG president Charmaine Stone congratulated the players on another successful monthly competition.

“Thank you to Fiona Kendrick from State Mines for handing out the prizes. Well done, ladies, on the excellent results,” she said.

The next ESWG round will be played at Reading Golf Club in Alberton on August 19.
