Leading gospel singers set to light up the stage

Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Solly Mahlangu and S'fiso N'cwane set to grace the stage.

Three of the biggest names in South African gospel music will take to the Carnival City Big Top Arena’s stage on Sunday, December 15, for an unforgettable performance.

The Queen of Gospel herself, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, will be one of the performers to grace the stage.

Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, Mhlaba has become a national household name in the gospel community.

Mhlaba started singing professionally just over eight years ago and her debut album, Dwala Lami, was released in 2005.

She has since released six more albums and four live DVDS, and has also collected a SAMA award and numerous Crown Gospel Awards along the way.

Veteran gospel artist Solly Mahlangu spent 20 years in the ministry before deciding to focus on spreading the word through gospel music.

His powerful, energetic stage presence and active performance, coupled with his warmth, make Mahlangu a compelling performer.

At the fourth Crown Gospel Awards, in 2011, he walked away with the awards for Best Male Gospel Artist, Best Gospel Artist and Best Gospel song.

The third star in the Praises line-up is S’fiso Ncwane, who also hails from KwaZulu-Natal.

Ncwane started singing at the tender age of eight and, by the time he was 10, he was singing isiCathamiya gospel songs.

He started playing keyboards, bass guitar and drums.

His first album released was titled Vulamasango and he has since gone on to release more albums and has won several awards at the Crown Gospel Awards.

All three will be performing with a live band.
