Join Evita Bezuidenhout in three special shows
Legendary Evita Bezuidenhout to take to the stage at Emperors Palace.
Pieter-Dirk Uys and Evita Bezuidenhout are often mentioned in the same breath, but they could never be in the same room together, or meet one another face-to-face.
She has been in his satirical cluster for over 30 years and he keeps on dieting for her.
And yet, once in a blue moon, the impossible is not so unlikely — both Pieter-Dirk Uys and Evita Bezuidenhout will be together on stage.
When the most famous white woman in South Africa enters Emperors Palace, what can one expect?
A coup d’‚tat?
A royal flush?
A laugh a line?
Over the Women’s Day weekend (August 9 and 10), expect only the best from Pieter-Dirk Uys.
In his first performances in the Theatre of Marcellus, he brings an entire company to support Tannie Evita: some old — a saamtrek of Bothas; some blue — Evita’s sexy sister; some borrowed – but all for you.
Don’t forget the politicians who have always been his scriptwriters, since way back in the 1980s, and today the democratic government of a rainbow nation does not let him down.
Evita and Co will feature much-loved characters such as the ever-green Nowell Fine from Saxonwold, the always opinionated Mrs Petersen from the Cape Flats, the outrageous sex-guru Madame Bambi Kellermann, as well as the political Numbers One, Two and Three, who have made up our complement of kings, clowns and comrades.
There will be a surprise in each show, as Tannie Evita has invited some very special friends to join her for a Women’s Day chat, maybe also a song, but always a dance of entertainment.
This show has been specially created for a weekend that is special, not just for women, but also for families and friends.
And, some months after a General Election, anything is possible with Pieter-Dirk Uys and the legendary Evita Bezuidenhout.

Catch one of the three performances of Evita and Co in the Theatre of Marcellus.
There are two performances on Saturday, one at 5pm and one at 8pm, and one performance on Sunday at 3pm.
