I urge all young people of my age to get involved in taking the destiny and future of their country in their own hands by using their constitutional right to participate in the forth-coming national elections.

As the future leaders of this country, we as young people need to start practising our rights through the ballot and using those rights to express our political opinion by participating at the polls.

It is also our duty and responsibility to ensure that we elect committed and credible political leaders to lead us into the future.

We have to be careful not to make the same mistake that our grand-parents made by allowing apartheid to determine their future and our parents who have corrupted the struggle for their own selfish pursuits of greed, self-enrichment and hypocrisy.

It is now up to us young people to take the baton and make sure that South Africa remains a truly better place for all to live peacefully and prosperously in.

By casting our vote during the forth coming local government elections, we will ensure that the legacy of the late former State president Nelson Mandela continues for all to enjoy.
