I want to make a movie about albinos
This also reminded me that there are people who face much worse situations in life than just poverty.

Greetings
On the 24th of August I picked up yet another exciting and informatve issue of my favourite newspaper, Kathorus MAIL for the latest inspiring stories.
On the front page there was a colourful brother with a smile on his face that automatically brightened up my day. After reading Julius Frans Novhela’s story all my frustrations, stress and the feeling of constantly being young, broke and unlucky vanished. As an aspiring filmmaker and script writer, Novhela’s story both inspired me and made me to realise that many people, especially those in the black society, are uninformed and ignorant to the plight of people living with albinism.
This also reminded me that there are people who face much worse situations in life than just poverty. Novhela has inspired me to write a script for a movie that will be based on his life, called Walking Money, which I hope can star him.
Growing-up in Tembisa, under harsh conditions, he lives in fear of people who ”boldly tell him to his pink face” that they would stop at nothing to enrich themselves by trading his limbs to the highest bidder. With the movie I aim to raise awareness to the myths and facts about albinism and the people living with it.
Seeing so much violence, abuse and discrimination against people with albinism, and from reading through the story of Novhela, I have taken it upon myself to do something about the situation, thus my letter to you. I hereby plead with you to help me with my request to set up an interview with Novhela, so I can get more information from him about his life.
I also hope you will be able to partner with me in the making of the movie, which will raise awareness around such social issues. This can only be made possible if I can get a helping hand from your newspaper to arrange a formal interview with Novhela as I don’t believe in all the myths surrounding albinism as I am well informed on the issues and it is one of the reasons I want to take part in this initiative.
To reiterate the words of Julius Frans Novhela; ”We’re all human beings .same soul, same blood, just our skin is different, but that does not make us any less worthy of life than everybody else”.
