Nyaope addicts need help, not scorn
It is now almost five years since the hospital was relocated to Vosloorus and it would be interesting to know if this plan is still going to be implemented.
Most people see them as “societal thrash” but I think the hundreds of youngsters who are addicted to the drug nyaope need help and not scorn as is the case presently.
I remember reading an article in the Kathorus MAIL soon after its relocation the old Natalspruit Hospital would be converted into a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts. It is now almost five years since the hospital was relocated to Vosloorus and it would be interesting to know if this plan is still going to be implemented.
With a new mayor in Ekurhuleni, again it would be interesting to know if this plan will still be carried out as initially suggested. I’m sure that parents with children who have become addicts would also like to know if this will ever happen.
