Toastmasters international speech representative
Sharon Khosa will represent the Alberton Toastmasters Club at the area contest.
The winner of the Alberton Toastmasters Club’s international speech competition, Sharon Khosa, said the win is a step in the right direction to becoming a public speaking champion.
The club held its international speech competition on March 25, where club president Quinton Losper, vice president for public relations Vuyo Sabani and vice president for education Sharon Khosa competed.
Both Losper and Sabani were disqualified due to technicalities, which left Khosa the sole winner of the competition. She will represent the club at the area contest.
“Winning the club contest means that I am stepping into the next level of communication, leadership and life and more importantly to the next level in the competition with the potential of being a champion of public speaking,” said Khosa.
On why she has remained a dedicated member of the club, Khosa said: “The two important skills that Toastmasters offers are leadership and communication.
“Not only did I find my voice and comfort to speak anywhere, I also found my pen and today I am an author of two books. I recommend Toastmasters to anyone who wants to improve their public speaking, communication and leadership skills.”
The club accepts guests with no obligation to join.
