The new council members of Lesedi Local Municipality were sworn in on August 17. The council consists of 26 members that are divided into 16 ANC members, six DA members, three EFF members and one VFPlus member.

Mrs Lerato Maloka was once again voted in as Mayor with Mr Mluleki Nelson Nkosi as the new Speaker. Mr Simon Moremi (former Speaker) is now the MMC for Corporate Services. Other Members of the Mayoral Committee are Themba Motsepe, Mamoswane Rikitla, Thembekile Ramothibe and Mapule Motsepe.
