Body of Grade 11 learner found near railway line

DUNNOTTAR - A 17 year old Dunnottar resident was found murdered on the corner of Davis and Roggers Roads in Selection Park on September 30.

His body was found by a member of the community behind a precast wall near the railway line, still dressed in his school uniform. Ekurhuleni Emergency Services was immediately contacted.

Another community member recognised the school uniform to be that of Veritas College in Springs and went to the school to alert staff to the gruesome discovery. It was later confirmed that Abram Sibeko was a Grade 11 learner and council president of the school. He was stabbed several times in the chest with a sharp object.
According to Springs police spokesperson Lt Jaymakubele the 17 year old went missing the day before. When he failed to return home after cricket practice, his father began searching for him throughout the night, but to no avail. He tried to phone him several times on his cellphone, which went directly to voicemail.

Police confirmed the boy’s cellphone and cricket bag were missing. A case of murder is being investigated.
