Drugs, stolen property seized during operation
Ekurhuleni East Cluster SAPS execute successful drug raids
In briefing the police parade at Heidelberg Mall, Ekurhuleni East Cluster Commander Major General Mbele ensured that members were both mentally and physically ready to perform at their best in a planned drug operation that was scheduled for August 10.
Following the brief, 10 suspects were arrested by the police for various crimes in Duduza and Kwa-Thema. According to police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka, the offences include possession of drugs (dagga) and possession of suspected stolen copper pipes.
During the operation carried out at Kwa-Thema Hostel, police discovered and seized several bags containing dagga.
“The operation forms part of the Buya Mthetho campaign, which is aimed at ensuring the safety of all residents and restoring law and order in the country,” Sgt Manaka said.
