“The owner of the tuckshop intervened, but suspects managed to flee the scene,” police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said.
He added that the 36-year-old complainant Mbulelo Clement Nongogo, was allegedly robbed at gunpoint at a tuck shop in Madiba Street, Bluegum View by five male suspects, who are well known to him.
“It is alleged the one suspect pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim while trying to search him, but the victim managed to hit him with a beer bottle on his forehead. The owner of the tuckshop intervened, but the suspects managed to flee the scene” Sgt Manaka explained.
The suspects are believed to be in Duduza.
