Two bodies were discovered inside a burned-out car next to the road on the R103 near Heidelberg this morning (11 September).

The bodies are said to be burnt beyond recognition, which could delay identification until finalisation of DNA testing.

According to acting police spokesperson Capt Madeleine von Wielligh, the vehicle appears to be a Mazda 3 but no further details are available.

The gruesome discovery is under police investigation and anyone with information can phone Detective Const Semenya on 076 723 2002.
