SAVF held a career day for Grade 12 learners in Ratanda

Grade 12 learners are often confused by which career path to take after school.

The SAVF (Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie) held a career day at Ratanda Secondary School on September 27 to assist learners in choosing a suitable career option.

Psychometric tests were done on the Grade 12 learners on September 1 by Prof Botha from the North West University (NMU) Vaal Triangle Campus. These tests were evaluated and feedback was provided on September 27 as part of the career day.

Professionals from multi-disciplinary careers spoke about their respective career paths, entrance requirements and what the careers entail. A teacher, nurse, fire fighter, traffic officer, artist, lawyer, entrepreneur, social worker and a paramedic shared their professional life experiences with the learners.

The organiser was Noluthando Masilo, a final year student studying towards her Bachelor of Social Work at NWU Vaal Triangle Campus while doing her internship with SAVF Heidelberg. For her final year project, she had to hold a career day for high school learners.
