Hoër Volkskool Class of 2026 to take centre stage at annual matric farewell
The Heidelberg community is invited to celebrate Hoër Volkskool’s Class of 2026 as the matrics take to the red carpet on September 25 for their annual matric farewell.
The Class of 2026 at Hoër Volkskool will take centre stage on September 25 when the school hosts its annual matric farewell.
The event, which has become a much-anticipated tradition in the Heidelberg community, will give residents an opportunity to celebrate the matric pupils as they mark an important milestone in their school careers.
From 15:00, the school’s main grandstand will be transformed into a red-carpet venue, where the matric pupils will make their entrances and showcase their formal attire.
The red-carpet proceedings will continue until approximately 18:15, allowing parents, grandparents, family members, friends and community members to see and support the Class of 2026.
The occasion represents more than an opportunity for pupils to dress up and take photographs. It marks the culmination of years of school memories, friendships and experiences, while also signalling the beginning of a new chapter beyond high school.
The Heidelberg community is encouraged to come out in support of the pupils and share in the celebrations.
Admission is R10 per person, while primary school pupils will be admitted free of charge.
Spectators can park on the B-field or on the paved area in front of the hostel. The school tuck shop will also be open during the event, selling refreshments and food.
