Duduza drug dealer nabbed by Metro Police

The arrest was made on November 9 when metro police officers discovered nyaope and dagga worth an estimated street value of around R12 000.

DUDUZA – Information provided by a member of the community to the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) drug enforcement unit, has resulted in the successful arrest of a man suspected of dealing in drugs.

The arrest was made on November 9 when metro police officers discovered nyaope and dagga worth an estimated street value of around R12 000.

“The suspect was arrested at his place of residence in Nala Street, where the metro police officers found approximately 9kg of dagga and 50 packets of nyaope. Police also seized cash in the amount of R690, which is suspected to be proceeds from illicit drug dealings,” EMPD spokesperson Chief Superindendent Wilfred Kgasago said.

The 27-year-old suspect was detained at SAPS Duduza on charges of possession and dealing in dagga and narcotics. He was expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court on November 12.
