The incident occurred at a house in Cool Breeze Extension 2, Masechaba View.
According to SAPS Duduza spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka, the suspect claimed the baby “was possessed by demons”.
He was arrested shortly after the killing and appeared in Nigel Magistrate’s Court on February 12 on the charge of murder.
