No place for drugs in Duduza

SAPS Duduza acting station commander Capt Mabuza later stated that the police will intensify random patrols in all areas of Duduza to ensure that order is maintained.

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested by members from the SAPS Duduza crime prevention unit during a special crime prevention operation that took place on February 27.

According to police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka, the team of police officers spent hours studying the behaviour of a group of males (pointed out by the community as drug peddlers) near the Sasol filling station in Bluegum View.

“The police spent hours in surveillance before moving in tactically. They first selected their target and later managed to apprehend two suspects, where they found 12 mandrax tablets between them,” Sgt Manaka said.

He added that the arrests come after members from the local community complained about the distribution of drugs by the group of suspects and an increase in crime in the area lately.

SAPS Duduza acting station commander Capt Mabuza later stated that the police will intensify random patrols in all areas of Duduza to ensure that order is maintained.
