“We are doing everything we can to assist our learners to achieve top academic marks despite the Covic-19 lockdown.”
These are the words of Mr Steven Nel – headmaster of Mountain View High School on how the lockdown is affecting learners (especially matrics) from finishing the 2020 academic year.
Teachers are constantly in contact with learners via Whatsapp groups as well as teaching videos.
This is in line with the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga’s message that all will be done in order to assist the matric class to graduate this year.
“By hook or by crook, the Class of 2020 will graduate this year. We cannot afford to give up,” the minister said.
She assured the nation that there are plans such as a recovery programme on the table to intensify teaching.
